In plain words

  • Texts are optional. You only get them if you tick the box when you join a line, and you can join without a phone.
  • They are only about that visit: your place in line, a change to it, when it is your turn, and if you missed it. At most 3 texts per visit.
  • Msg & data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP (or PARAR) to stop. Reply HELP (or AYUDA) for help.
  • We never use your number for marketing and never share it for marketing.

Program name and description

Program name: Walk-In Waitlist visit updates.

Shops use Walk-In Waitlist to run their walk-in line. When you join a shop's line on its join page (from the QR code in the shop or a link) and tick the box to get texts, the shop sends you texts about that visit through Walk-In Waitlist. Each shop texts from its own local number, and every text starts with the shop's name.

The texts are:

  • You joined: your number in line, the estimated wait and a link to follow your place (sent when the wait is long enough to need it).
  • Line update: your new place and estimate if the shop moves you back in line.
  • You are next: a call to come back when it is almost your turn.
  • Missed your turn: a note if the shop called you and could not find you, with a link to join again.

Texts are never marketing or promotions, and the shop cannot change their wording.

How you agree

On the join page, a box that is not ticked by default says: "Text me updates about my place in line at [shop name] (up to 3 texts for this visit). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help." The same text is shown in Spanish to Spanish readers. Ticking it and joining is your consent. We record the exact text you agreed to, its version, the time and the language.

If staff add you to the line at the counter, they may enter your number only with your permission.

Consent is not a condition of service or of any purchase. You can join the line without a mobile number, or with a number and the box left empty, and follow your place on the status page instead.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies: at most 3 texts per visit you join, and only while that visit lasts. There are no recurring messages. Texts are sent between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. in the shop's time zone.

Cost

Msg & data rates may apply. Your carrier's standard messaging and data rates apply to texts you get and send. We and the shops never charge you for texts.

How to stop texts

Reply STOP to any text to stop texts. Other words work too: STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT, and in Spanish PARAR, PARA, ALTO, CANCELAR, BAJA, DETENER, FIN and SALIR. A message asking us to stop in your own words (for example "stop texting me" or "no me escriban") also works.

After you opt out you may get one message confirming it, and then no more texts from Walk-In Waitlist to that number, from any shop, until you opt back in. You can also choose "Delete my info" on your status page, which removes your number right away.

To get texts again, reply START (or UNSTOP, YES or SUBSCRIBE), and tick the box the next time you join a line.

How to get help

Reply HELP or AYUDA to any text. The reply names the shop, our support email and a link to these terms, and reminds you how to stop. You can also write to our support email (coming soon).

Supported carriers

Texts go through US mobile carriers, including carriers in Puerto Rico, over registered business texting (10DLC). Only US mobile numbers (+1) can receive them. Landlines and some prepaid or virtual numbers cannot; if a text cannot be delivered, the status page tells you to keep it open instead.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Texts depend on your phone, signal and carrier and can arrive late or not at all. Keep your status page open if you need to know exactly when it is your turn, and never rely on texts for emergencies.

Privacy

We use your number only to send the texts about your visit and to honor STOP. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Read the Privacy Policy for what we keep and for how long.

Changes

If these terms change, we will post the new version here with its date. A change never applies to texts you already agreed to without telling you.
